Amidst mixed emotions, Roumelia found her precious one

Olaf, is a nine year old Himalayan Mastiff also called Gaddi or Bhutiya. The family got him from Delhi when they were in Pune in January 2015. Roumelia said, "We had just lost our German Shepherd and I wasn't very keen on getting another dog. But the moment he put his little paws over my threshold, he stole my heart forever."

Bringing a new pet home after losing one can evoke a mix of emotions. It may bring a sense of joy and companionship, but there might also be moments of nostalgia or sadness for the pet that's no longer with you. Each pet is unique, and the experience varies for everyone.

Olaf is a very low maintenance, well adjusted dog. He was potty trained within two days, and didn't require them to make many changes. The only change was to take him for walks about three times a day.

Olaf has taught them how to always be happy and enjoy every moment. He has also taught us about unconditional love. And thanks to Olaf, Roumelia says she feels a kind of affinity to all dogs now.

Dogs have a remarkable ability to live in the present moment, finding joy in simple things. Their enthusiasm for play, exploration, and companionship can serve as a reminder for us to appreciate life's small pleasures and to be fully present in the moment. Observing their carefree attitude can inspire us to let go of worries and savor the experiences around us.

"He makes us happy and brings us unlimited joy. The walks we take with him everyday makes us feel active and energetic too," she shared adding that he loves each member of the family equally and they all absolutely adore him.

Dogs express love through various behaviors, such as wagging their tails, licking, cuddling, and seeking attention. They form strong emotional bonds with their owners, relying on them for care and companionship. Humans reciprocate by providing love, care, and attention, creating a unique bond built on trust and companionship. This mutual connection often results in a deep, affectionate relationship between dogs and their human companions.
