An emotion towards the voiceless

For a pet lover, receiving a pet as a gift can be incredibly meaningful and special. PawsAyur brings to you a lovely story on Vijaya Reddy, a pet lover.

Vijaya always wanted a pet and she always wished someone to gift her one. There was a fantasy that when she opens the door, she wanted a puppy in a basket gifted to her. And her fantasy turned into reality when her husband gifted a lab puppy (Shadow) to her. Need not mention, Vijaya who has always been an animal lover was thrilled and super excited about this most precious gift.

Ever since Shadow came into life, Vijaya shares that her lifestyle changed for good. She always wanted to spend time with her pet all the time. "A few activities that we love doing are; playing with him, going for a drive and going to lakes for a swim," she said.

After the first pet came the second one and then the third and then the fourth. Vijaya says that all of them are her best companions at all time and she has got very attached to them.

"When I had to travel out of the station, Shadow would not eat. There were times when I had to fly from Mumbai to Hyderabad without informing my office people," she says adding one interesting point that the family members never had time to quarrel or fight with each other.

All her love towards dogs started with a Labrador, but today, she cares for all the animals, especially the Indie dogs and puppies. Vijaya also feeds as many Indie dogs as possible and also takes the responsibility to vaccinate them. Bravo! Such was the impact of having one pet.

Vijaya is also into the rescue the puppies and likes to take care of the mother dogs. "Every Sunday, I conduct an adoption drive for puppies and kittens. And I am glad that any event organised by the animal welfare or animal shows in Hyderabad, I am invited to have my adoption drive," said Vijaya adding that she has rescued a total of 7 dogs and the family now comprises 4 pets.
