Deeksha's Life lines are her pets.

Deeksha felt a deep connection with animals since her childhood. She used to take care of the street dogs in as many ways as possible. She says that despite facing many bad situations, she never gave up on it because she thinks her purpose lies in this connection and is innate.

Deeksha has been in touch with animal rescuers and volunteers post her tenth grade. Sharing one of the incidents, Deeksha said that she saw a post of one Animal rescuer on puppies for adoption. Without a second thought, she reached out to them and got first pup at home and named him Mothi.

Deeksha has had experience with stray dogs since her childhood. However, Mothi changed her perspective and taught her about dogs and animal life. "As a young girl, I learnt to treat animals by myself, thanks to Mothi. I was the happiest when I found a buddy to sit, play and talk with," shared Deeksha.

She further shared an interesting story. One of her friend was supposed to adopt a pet and he was supposed to pick it up next morning. The pup Sheru was with Deeksha for a night. Both of them had a great time together and she got connected to him within short time.

"The next morning, my friend picked the pup up. After few hours, I got a call saying that the puppy isn't eating and crying. So, I had to take the pup back and to my surprise, Sheru was very normal and happy," she said adding that's how she got Sheru as her pet in my life.

Later, Deeksha got a kitten rescued from a street and this was her first experience with cats. This cat named Pillu turned to be her pet. Her journey with rescues and taking care of animals went on.

Having 2 dogs and 8 cats is obviously a task and challenging but at the same time, Deeksha says that it gave her a meaning to life and they taught her the purpose on earth.

"Our street people used to hate dogs but after seeing my work, some people gradually changed there behavior towards stray dogs. They used to call me for any help and this is the impact on society," she concluded.
