Filling the void of having a sibling

Madhuri adopted Chocky when she was just a few days old, after seeing a heart-wrenching post on a friend’s Facebook wall. Chocky was the sole survivor of a tragic accident that claimed the lives of her mother and siblings in April 2020.

Madhuri’s daughter had always longed for a sibling, and when Chocky joined their family, she filled that void perfectly. “From the moment she entered our lives, our journey together has been nothing short of extraordinary. Chocky has become the center of our world, and every decision and plan we make revolves around her. Each day, I eagerly anticipate coming home from work, knowing that Chocky will be there waiting at the door, her loyalty and love greeting me with every wag of her tail. It feels as though she has been a part of our lives forever, and the bond we share is indescribable.”

Because of the trauma that Chocky endured early in life, she’s understandably wary of new people and tends to shy away from socializing. However, she has an incredible instinct for recognizing who is a true friend and who isn’t. As Chocky’s parent, she has learnt that adopting a pet is a profound responsibility, one that demands patience, empathy, and a deep understanding of their emotions. Dogs, like Chocky, experience a depth of love that is unmatched by any human, and that love has healed me in ways I never imagined. On difficult days, Chocky’s cuddles and kisses are the perfect remedy, bringing comfort and joy that words cannot fully express.

Chocky has also taught her daughter important life lessons. She’s learned about sharing, responsibility, and the beauty of loving unconditionally. Although there are moments when they compete for her attention, both Chocky and her daughter understand that her love for them is boundless and equal.

At this point, Chocky is such an integral part of my life that any future partner I choose must be someone she accepts as well. Her approval is non-negotiable.
