Gucci has showered me with Love

Ankit Suri is the proud father of a Persian cat, Gucci. He has always been a dog person (at least that’s what he had thought) and it was always difficult for him to consider getting another dog after he lost his first pet.

In December 2019, when he was ready to welcome a companion, he realized that his routine and lifestyle (corporate slave) wouldn’t allow him to give the time and care to a dog, which they require. That is when he started considering keeping a cat since they’re known to have less separation anxiety and do just fine even when left for a few hours.

“It took a while but when I found Gucci, he was the biggest blessing in my life and with every passing minute I only fell more and more in love with him. He’s now 4 and a half years old and one of the most integral parts of my life,” said Ankit.

From being a spendthrift, buying all kinds of useless things for himself, to buying more and more things for Gucci, gave him more happiness than he could’ve imagined. He instilled discipline, mindfulness and unconditional care in his system.

Gucci has been the best therapy Ankit could’ve asked for. Being an avid believer in the importance of mental health and good energy, and having lived away from his hometown (Wellington, Nilgiris) and parents for most of his adult life, he had to deal with his downtimes on his own.

But since Gucci came into his life, one look at him, one hug, one kiss, makes him forget about all the things that drained him through the day and helps him rejuvenate. Gucci, without knowing it, is the reason Ankit walks out of his house with a smile at the beginning of the day and walks in with a smile at the end of the day.

So, during the lockdown, when Ankit went back home after being in Bangalore for a few months, his parents met Gucci for the first time. His parent’s routine was restructured around spending more time with Gucci and when it was time to bring him back to Bangalore after spending almost 2 years back home with his parents, Ankit’s Mom cried all day. “I sometimes jokingly bring this up with her and tell her that I don’t remember her ever crying for me like that,” concluded Ankit.
