But what makes this story truly unique is the loyal companion who fearlessly accompanies our intrepid travellers, transforming their expedition into an extraordinary adventure like no other.
During an interesting conversation, one could picture this: a couple navigating the bustling streets of Delhi, strolling through the serene landscapes of Kerala, and marvelling at the ancient wonders of Rajasthan. Now, add an unexpected twist to this picturesque scene—a charming four-legged friend by their side, wagging its tail and sharing in the traveller’s sense of wanderlust. This is the story of Sangeeth V V and Kavya A K and their extraordinary pet Drogo (resembling a Pitbull) defying convention and exploring the depths of India's rich cultural tapestry together.
It is said that a journey becomes even more meaningful when shared with a loved one, and this couple could not agree more. Travelling has always been their love and passion and the couple started travelling when they were 18. “The dream of being able to travel full-time has been a long-time plan and we are so happy that we have taken our first step towards making it a reality. It has been a wonderful journey so far with our moving home and our small family. Currently, we are on an Overlanding trip all across India, experiencing the remote village life in the various corners of our country along with our boy Drogo,” shared Sangeeth.
Drogo has been all over India, from the land of Kerala to the high mountains of Himachal Pradesh, the many beaches along the way, and the great cold desert of Spiti valley. They recently explored Uttarakhand and was one of the best road trips they have had till now. He loved running in the lush forest beds of Nainital when the couple camped there and enjoyed every bit of the journey. Drogo, their furry companion absolutely loves to go on hikes in the mountains and run around in the pine forest.
Sangeeth shared, “Drogo never fails to surprise us. During our trip to Spiti Valley, we camped in a village and there was a herd of cows grazing nearby. He carefully steered them away when he felt they were getting too close to us. The way he jumped right out of the jeep and more importantly how he protected us without hurting the herd amazed us that day. To see this kind of behavior from a so-called aggressive breed was truly incredible.”
Since Drogo entered their lives two years ago, there has never been a day when they have not been together. He added to the joys from the moment he arrived. He has significantly altered every aspect of their lives, from daily activities to how they see the world. The couple opine that he is the reason they have a consistent morning schedule. He relishes his homemade breakfast, and he spends the rest of the day napping or gazing outside. Life is much more meaningful with Drogo by our side, signed off Sangeeth.
