LOVE FOR JOY TO ALL THE VOICELESS.

Dr P. Mary Anupama narrates the story of her family- Miss Angeline (Jessy) and Miss Joy (Senegal Parrot). Anupama and Jessy shifted from a very happening individual house to a flat. Her daughter who just finished 10th, started feeling lonely as there was no one there. They had many pets previously, mainly love birds that died with age.

Anupama again got her love birds to give her company at home, but the birds never connected with her. Being a single child staying alone at home, she started getting into depression. So, one day Anupama took her daughter to a pet shop to get interactive cocktails. But her eyes fell on this small baby bird sitting on a perch and going to everyone visiting the shop.

The baby got onto Jessy while she was checking others. Jessy connected with this different kid immediately and she had tears in her eyes requesting to take the baby home. “We never knew about exotic birds, and this Senegal parrot came home as a second child of the family and we named her Joy,” said Anupama.

Joy was very playful and their lives became Joy centric. Joy is now her second kid and the kids' rivalry was evident in every aspect. Joy loved watching nature, calling people, visiting neighbors, walking daily and trips in the car.

They shifted to a bigger flat designed to cater her needs too and they observed that joy enjoyed the house flying in all directions, calling out people from the balcony and playing round the clock. They celebrated her birthday on Feb 14th and offered a fruit party to all kids in the apartment. People used to call her Joy mom. She showered them with her unconditional love, grooming her daughter as well.

Anupama further added, “But on 24th June, 2019 joy left her breath. I was deep frying in the kitchen and she wanted to help. I was afraid that she would fall in the oil and she got angry. Her irregular mischievous flight out of anger led to head injury and internal bleeding. She left us in shock and loneliness.”

After a month they got pineapple conures, then cats and then dogs. In her name, they do animal rescue now and community dog feeding. She gave them so much love in her three years stay that they now spread love for the voiceless and do more service for these pure souls. Joy changed their lives from living as mere humans to live with humanity towards all living beings.
