Paws and whiskers, tails and ears, we have a message, loud and clear, It's a special day, can't you see? It is her birthday, from your pets, that's me!
Well, this message is a wish from Bruno and Sheru for their human companion Lakshya Lodha who celebrates her birthday on September 16. But who are Bruno and Sheru?
On February 21st, 2021, Bruno joined the family, and Sheru followed a year later. They had no intention of adopting Sheru. One of their friends asked them to foster him for a short while. Then, because of a few problems at their home, the entire family decided to keep him with them until he is adopted. Little did they know that they had actually adopted him. Why? Because they were completely enamoured with his personality. So pure was he. He lavished the family with love. And somewhere, Bruno yearned for a friend. Sheru received excellent care from Bruno, who started guarding him right away.
“Once they became family, our lives underwent a permanent alteration. The true nature of love has been revealed by their actions. We foster a few dogs till they are adopted because of their love. On certain weekends, we simply drive them around and feed other dogs,” shared Rahul.
Family members developed strong emotional bonds with both of them. Their preferred activities include taking long walks, driving, and running amok on the beach. “Since we know that they would be happy to see us, the adrenaline surge we experience when we see them multiplies. Everything is worth it when you see the joy on their face. Visitors stop by to check on them and see how they're doing,” shared Lakshya.
Bruno and Sheru teach all of life lessons that are quite valuable. They educate us to have compassion, kindness, and gentleness towards other people.
The biggest lesson has been to really enjoy life while participating in the movement. Bruno has always taken great care to keep us safe. They are without a doubt their ideal friends. In addition to being faithful, they are also incredibly respectful and submissive.
Rahul added that Sheru enjoys getting massages and will insist on more if we stop. He asks in a charming way by waving his paw in the air. With us, Bruno enjoys playing peekaboo (hide and seek).
Lakshya concludes, “Happiness for us is their warm hugs. I sing them their most favorite lullaby, “You are my sunshine” and right next minute he’s asleep. That’s the comfort they have with us. I reckon, “They have left their paw prints on our hearts forever.”
