In a world where profit margins and global ambitions often steer the course of our lives, one individual dared to defy the conventional narrative. Meet Meenu, an entrepreneur whose compelling tale transcends the boundaries of business and borders. Her story, while unconventional, serves as a poignant reminder that life's greatest treasures might not be found in overseas ventures or corporate conquests, but in the unbreakable bond between a person and their four-legged companion.
As planes roared overhead, carrying dreams and aspirations to distant lands, Meenu found herself at crossroads. Her business acumen had guided her toward glittering prospects abroad, promising untold riches and the allure of success on a global scale. Yet, amidst the excitement of international expansion, destiny whispered through a pair of soulful eyes that knew nothing of profits or portfolios – the eyes of her beloved pet, a loyal and loving canine named Mario. So, let us have a look at how did it all begin?
In order to care for her parents, who are both in their 70s, Meenu had to slow down her business and travel to Vizag during the Covid times. A blessing in disguise, Meenu had the excellent fortune to assist a buddy in October 2020 in finding a suitable Husky for himself, whom he eventually brought home and called Mario. Later, she went to see her friend in Bangalore after a few days and spent some time with Mario. A super energetic dog, Mario frequently jumped and scratched due to his extreme hyperactivity.
Meenu’s friend, who was suffering from diabetes, became too concerned about keeping Mario. In order to stop Mario from biting and scratching, he either wanted to give him away or requested her to look after him for a month. As a result, Meenu had to take Mario along with her to Vizag. The magic then came next.
Mario remained with Meenu despite the COVID constraints. After two months, she decided not to return Mario to her friend since she had grown too close to him. One quality she improved because of her pet is ‘patience’.
She was unable to return to Turkey and leave Mario behind. The cutest thing that kept her there was the way he looks at her and occasionally speaks; his affection and unwavering commitment are qualities she has not seen in other people.
After a few months, she thought Mario and herself could travel to Turkey. But according to her brother, Turkey prohibits dogs in homes. To which she responded, "Okay, then I'll remain in India and work from home." After a few months, she made the decision to leave her company and Turkey behind and be with Mario in her own city.
Meenu further said that it has been two and a half years, and she has not had the slightest remorse over her choice. She is more content than ever. “All the money I have made over the years has not made me feel this content and happy in life. With my child, I feel emotionally stronger,” she opined.
“We had to change our car and buy a seven-seater car so that Mario could sleep comfortably during our long drives. I have ten more dogs, but Mario is the one who changed my life and taught me what unconditional love truly means,” shared Meenu who had started her own pharmaceutical firm in Turkey.
Meenu’s tale is a reminder that life's grandest adventures often unfold not in distant locales, but in the familiar embrace of a loyal friend. (PS- Mario is also on Instagram as @mariothehuskymylove)
