Pets are a "quotient of happiness"

A beautiful quote by George Eliot states that, “Animals are such agreeable friends. They ask no questions and pass no criticisms.” Vineela personally believes in this quote because animals have changed her life.

I remember my mother telling me; “Give your heart to a dog and it will never break it.”

The family decided to bring home Shiro, a male Beagle puppy, after losing Ryden, her male German Shepherd boy (of five years old). Ryden’s sudden death due to weather complications had shattered her and the family members. It was hard for them to accept such a heart-breaking situation and the worst part was to hide this matter by portraying a fake smile in front of her younger brother (in video calls) as he was on board, sailing.

"Losing a pet is like losing a part of our soul. I had to move on with my job but my mother was grief-stricken and had lost her smile in this process. We were worried as her health was deteriorating after Ryden’s death. That is when my sister and I had decided to bring back our mom’s smile again. I still remember the date, 5th August 2023, when Shiro ran towards my mom with his baby steps and my mom had tears of joy in her eyes. And that’s how Shiro became our quotient of happiness," says Vineela.

They are just not pets; they are an important part of their lives. Our pets have made our lives colourful and indefinably joyous. Life without a pet is very gloomy and hopeless for her and her family members as well.

Dogs never betray us; they are the most trust worthy animals who prefer to stay with us in our low phases and dark days. They are more sensible towards our feelings while compared to humans. They will love you forever no matter what.

"After losing Ryden, I could understand and feel the epistemology of loss and Shiro has taught me the importance of responsibility and priceless-patience. My family members have learnt the value of true companionship and importance of obligation and consistency in their journey of life with pets. Our pets have bought us close to each other," concluded Vineela.
