Stitching hearts together with “overflowing compassion”

There lies a haven where the hum of urban life fades into the gentle whispers of nature and in this space resides a woman whose heart beats in rhythm with the “pitter patter of tiny paws”.

Introducing Maybel, filled with boundless love and empathy for animals in need. Maybel feels,“ Our home is a “sanctuary” where the lost find love, the broken are mended, and every pawprint leaves an indelible mark on our hearts.”

Maybel’s journey began in her childhood where multiple pets filled her days with joy and warmth. She had a furball, Duna and losing her was very painful as Maybel grew up with her and Duna was a spectacular soul.

Tajada was sick due to ageing and Maybel had to euthanize her and Maybel had two puppies Saya and Joplin. Maybel feels, Joplin came to brighten our lives after the mourning we had for Duna. Saya became seriously ill due to ageing and Maybel had to euthanize her. Maybel was deeply connected to Saya and she was like Maybel’s daughter.

Maybel found a cat, El Gordo on the street and a kitten named Ang arrived who is the baby of her home. Ang was found on the street and her mischiefs remind Maybel what it means to have a child and Maybel’s pets are like her own children and she gives them all the care possible.

Some of Maybel’s pets fell ill due to ageing, despite her relentless efforts and the best veterinary care. Making the heart-wrenching decision to euthanize a pet is something a pawrent can’t face yet Maybel approached it with profound empathy. Maybel feels, “my pets deserve a happy life, but also a peaceful and calm demise”.

Maybel aspires to create a haven where animals who have known only hardship can find solace. Her experiences have deepened her resolve to make a difference and her journey includes love and loss, heartache and healing and Maybel shares, “A single act of rescue turns waves of indifference into oceans of empathy” and with that Maybel signs off for Pawsayur.
