With a motto to ‘Feed- Vaccinate-sterilize -rehome’, Jayanti Sundar has brought a difference

“Loki came into our life around seven years ago. My kids said ‘Maa let’s get a dog life will change’. And oh boy, it changed! Yes, big time,” expressed Jayanti Sundar.

As she was a first-time pet parent, she treated Loki like a baby and not a puppy. Of course, that made Loki a spoilt brat but a very loved brat. From the minute he came into their lives, Loki has been ruling the house. His excitement to greet people made their staff more regular to work.

Their family bonded over the evening antics of Loki and they forgot all the stress of the day. Loki made Jayanti conscious that there are dogs on the streets too. He made her wonder about how they get food or where they sleep. Jayanti was blissfully ignorant about these very issues.

Jayanti’s journey as a rescuer and feeder began after Loki came into their lives. When Loki turned 3 years old, Jayanti rescued Tara- a little 25-day-old fur ball surviving alone in an under-constructed building without a mother. Jayanti had fostered and re-homed several Indian puppies by then.

However, Tara was here to stay. How she convinced Loki who was averse to other indie pups they previously fostered is a big mystery. It was meant to be! Tara, a goof-bag, lives by the minute. They learned to be mindful about every minute of life because of Tara’s goofiness.

Loki and Tara are responsible for Jayanti’s excellent physical health and her emotional well-being. Jayanti is a psychotherapist by profession but her furry friends are her therapists. The next most important beings in her life are her community dogs. “They enrich me in so many ways that I can’t express. My life moto “to Feed- Vaccinate-sterilize -rehome has spread love in many families.”

Pets offer pure and unconditional love. They accept us for who we are without judgment or conditions. Their unwavering affection and loyalty create a deep emotional bond, providing comfort and a sense of belonging. Pets have an incredible ability to cater to the emotional needs of humans in various ways.

Having a pet by our side can ease stress, anxiety, and depression, and promote emotional well-being.
